The clay limestone soils give this selection quite original qualities: lots of color, deep black red; intense bouquet of blackcurrant, musk & game meat (hare); flavors dominated for a long time by astringency, highlighted by a well marked acidity and a mellowness which only appears when the wine shows a minimum of maturation. This very firm wine is, without a doubt, one of the most tannic and solid of the Burgundy crus.
